old meets new: augusta loft tour

Each year, I eagerly anticipate one of my favorite events of the whole year, the downtown Augusta Loft Tour.  'A loft tour?', you may ask. Yes, a loft tour. Every year when May rolls around, the Historic Society of Augusta puts on a stellar tour which showcases the wonderful historical buildings of our downtown area. Residents open up  their homes and invite the community to take a look at how wonderful downtown Augusta truly is. For me, the night of the tour includes exploring beautiful downtown, spending time with my favorite people, and of course daydreaming about having my own loft (one day). My love for the downtown community, buildings, and history of our city grows each year as I am surprised by the many wonderful details of the old architecture and beautiful interior designs I see. Each loft featured on this year's tour brought a new, fresh, exciting picture of what happens when old meets new. "Old meets new" is the perfect way to describe the new direction that Augusta is headed and I can only dream of the future possibilities that our city has to offer!  Before I go overboard on how much I love Augusta and believe in its future, here are a few of my favorite details from this year's loft tour.
